About Trudon

Eco-Conscious Manufacturing

Trudon is the oldest candlemaker in the world still in operation. Founded in 1643, the Maison supplied candles to the court of Louis XIV, the churches of Paris, and later, Napoleon’s imperial household. These were not ordinary candles—they were celebrated for their purity, quality, and clean burn long before “non-toxic” became a modern standard. The hand-blown glass vessels are crafted in Tuscany, and the scents are developed in collaboration with master perfumers in France. They use organic, plant-based waxes (such as organic rapeseed) and supports honeybee conservation efforts, paying homage to its original Latin motto: Deo Regique Laborant ("They work for God and the King"—referring to bees).
