Shipping Policy

THRESHOLD

We have a $35 online order threshold. Why, you ask? Well, because we have a small team and we manage two retail locations. All items excluding furniture, rugs and and large lighting ships from one of our shops and is packaged with extra care and attention. That takes time and effort. To ensure we can meet our standards of service we ask that your order meet our threshold minimum. Thank you!  

GENERAL DECOR ITEMS

Lead times and shipping rates will vary depending on the product, destination and carrier. In general, we work to ship in-stock items out within 24 hours of order receipt. We ship the majority of smaller items via UPS. This includes decor, kitchen, books and gifts.  Please note, changes to an address or order cannot be made after the order has shipped. 

BACKORDERED ITEMS

Our team works hard to update our site regularly to reflect the most accurate stock and estimated shipping timeframes. Changes to an estimated shipping time frame attributed to a delay in production may occur and are subject to change. Our team will notify you of any changes to the item(s) in your order and ship any available items.

Please note that certain large and oversized items requiring additional or specialized packaging may incur a handling fee. 

 

FURNITURE and LIGHTING 

Many of our furniture and lighting products ship directly from our manufactures. Once our partners have processed an order for shipment it cannot be cancelled. There is a 20% restocking fee applied to standard furniture items that are returned. Custom furniture and lighting orders cannot be cancelled or returned. 

Furniture and lighting products ship via freight. Standard delivery is to the threshold of your residence. This means that the freight carrier will remove your item from their truck and bring it to the threshold of your residence. In the case of apartment buildings the carrier will deliver to the exterior ground floor. Freight carriers will not unpack or remove pallets. Freight charges are calculated at check out.

We offer a white glove delivery upgrade option on all of our large furniture and lighting items. White glove delivery includes unpacking your item, bringing it into the room of your choice, assembly as needed. White glove delivery does not include lighting installation. LOCAL DELIVERY + STORAGE in WAITSFIELD VT

Receiving Special Order Furniture: 
- Special order furniture items can be shipped to our Waitsfield shop for receipt and short term storage. Items must be under 75 lbs and able to be received into our basement storage and shipping area. This includes rugs, chairs, benches, lamps, artwork, desks, small coffee tables and side tables. 
- Unfortunately, we cannot receive large or extremely heavy items such as sofas, love seats, beds, large cabinets and consoles over 60" long. 
- When items are delivered to our shop we will take responsibility for providing white glove receiving service including unboxing, unwrapping and inspecting the item for any damages. 
- If there are damages we will notify you immediately and begin the claims process. 
- We recycle and dispose of extra boxes, bubble wrap/styrofoam, and any other packaging. 
- For this receiving service, we charge $100 for the first item and $25 for each additional item.
Storage:
- Items can be held in our Waitsfield shop for up to two weeks. This includes special order items shipped to our shop as well as items purchased off of our floor or from our website. After 14 days we charge a storage fee of $10/day per item. 
Local Delivery: 
- We are able to offer delivery for smaller furniture items within the Mad River Valley. 
- Local delivery will be scheduled based on staff and truck availability. 
- Local delivery fees are based on the number of items and staff required to deliver. 
- Single item requiring one person: $65 per item. 
- Single item requiring two people: $120 per item.
- Multi item deliveries will be quoted on a case by case basis based on units, weight etc.  

ALASKA & HAWAII

We offer shipping to Alaska and Hawaii on an exception basis. Please contact our client services team at dana@theaddisonwest.com if you are interested in getting an estimate and time frame for shipping to Alaska or Hawaii. Thank you!

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

Unfortunately, we cannot ship to the U.S. territories or foreign countries. 

DAMAGES

Please inspect all deliveries upon receipt. Any damage to shipping boxes or pallets should be noted immediately. If you are receiving a large item through a freight company please note any damages before signing. Please document any damages by taking photographs of packaging and product. RETURNS

We have a 14 day return policy. We do not refund shipping costs associated with a general return. Customers are responsible for return shipping.
